Update #2
This is a weekly (sort of) Chinese MP3 Rotation in which I offer selected pieces of music for download encompassing many different genres.
*All songs are in Mandarin Chinese.
*Files are all 128 kbps.
*Files are zipped, so you need WinZip or WinRar to open them.
*Please comment if you download so I can get a sense of how many people come here.
*Please delete the file(s) after 24 hours as they are for sampling purposes only.
*Please support the artists and purchase their albums if you enjoy what you hear.
*All the songs are ripped from albums that I have bought and are hosted by me, so please respect that and don't repost the file or keep it for longer than 24 hours.
*Files are deleted after a new update is added.
*I don't take requests.
*If you would like a song from a previous update, please leave a comment (provide your email!) and I'll try to get it to you.
I upload what I like, which isn't necessarily new or mainstream. My sole reason for creating this site was to share my taste in music with the rest of the world.
破曉 (4:36)
南拳媽媽
2号餐, 2005
Electronic, Rock, Rap
Nan Quan Mama is a group founded by singer-songwriter Jay Chou and is composed of Devon (彈頭), Yuhao (宇豪), Lara (梁心頤) and Chang Jie (張傑). They can all write music. Most of the time, Devon writes the lyrics and Yuhao composes the music, but both Lara and Chang Jie contribute much on the composing side as well. Yuhao plays piano and Chang Jie plays guitar.
I found it hard to fit this song into a genre, but Poxiao is one of my all-time favorite songs. The intro is a great combination of piano and strings, and then it moves into more rock territory. And, of course, the song wouldn't be the same without Lara's voice mixed into all the male voices.
旅行的意義 (4:18)
陳綺貞
華麗的冒險, 2005
Acoustic
Cheer Chen was and still is a singer-songwriter on the indie music scene. She is known for her distinguishably sweet but strong voice and acoustic music.
Lüxing De Yiyi, the first track on her newest album, is beautiful in its simplicity. The lyrics are well-written too. This is actually the second version of this song. I prefer the first version, which is just acoustic guitar in the background, as opposed to this newer, complicated string arrangement. However, I don't own that one.
都只因為你
張韶涵
Over The Rainbow, 2004
Pop, Rock
Some find it unbelievable the power of Angela's voice despite her small frame. Besides singing, Angela Chang has also acted in quite a few Taiwanese dramas including My MVP Valentine, At Dolphin Bay, Love at the Aegean Sea, When Dolphin Met Cat, and Bump Off Lover.
There's really nothing specific to point out about Dou Zhi Yinwei Ni. I just like it for its melody and Angela's execution of it. It's very passionate and powerful.
